    "humorous drivel"?

    In that case:

"Morris, why is there a hole in the side of your cornet's leadpipe?"
"It became infected so I had to have it lanced."

I challenge anyone to come up with "humorous drivel" worse than *that* :-)

Back to the subject....Sort of ;-)
The ebay listings...You know, 3 lines about trumpet which give NO info, 3 lousy out of focus photos,(or worse 20!) and 35 paragraphs (Lots of colors) of we won't do this and we don't do that and you must do this or that ad nauseam....ugh! How do they stay in business......

Also, a lengthy, verbatim bunch of crap from some internet source of "information" (quotes intentional).

BTW -- for all you Martin fans, I've received a response from the website administrator / author of the dallasmusic.org/index website, relative to my complaints about so many errors. I feel confident we can work together to amend them, and set the record "right". Time will tell ....

    OK, OK.

I apologize for quoting what you said in Trumpet Herald about Holton Super Collegiates being so good (and even giving a link to the original) when I advertised my 1960 Holton Super Collegiate cornet in the Classified section of Trumpet Master.

    ;-) :-)

Warming up is what dressing rooms are for. What!? No dressing rooms where you're working? Same here. I work 2 gigs a week. The doors don't open until 45 minutes prior. We warm up before the doors are opened. We have to.

The drummers are miffed that brass and wind players pack up their tiny cases and flee the venue, leaving them to hump their own gear.

Keyboardists, vibe players etc... all have the same problem. The horn sections never stick around to load out.

I've noticed that the rythmn section (Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums) usually stick together as get the load out accomplished, but very few horn players hang.... why is that? I always helped out... but I used to work with my uncle... and he taught me that everyone's responsibility was to help out with all the band chores.
