Note that they do have a "Make Offer" option, so you might be able to low ball them.

I played that in my trombone years, my former teacher had used the Connstellation 48H in his younger days.
It is a bloody good trombone that one. Loved my time with that trombone.
    Highly recommended trombone! :-)

The best trombone I ever had was a late Elkhart 48H. It wasn't cosmetically beautiful, but it was a great player.

It got loaded into the luggage compartment of a Greyhound bus in Santa Fe and wasn't there when I arrived in Pasco, WA. Oh well, with the insurance money I bought a Holton Superbone, which is a surprisingly good player and quite the conversation piece.

Of course, nothing can compare to be Holton Superbone!

What was the problem - tone [sound quality] or intonation or responsiveness or maybe the overall weight of the horn?

The Connstellation trumpets of that era are reputed to have had a heavy nickel coating over a copper ["Coprion"] bell, and they have a reputation for being heavy horns [at least for women and little boys].

Anyway, the Connstellation was a definite choice for nice jazz and big band repertoire.
