I play a 1968 Conn 36B Connstellation with a Monette B6S1 MP. I suspect that I would buy a Monette Flumpet it money were no object. As it is, I am considering a Lawler C7S, looking for a fatter, fuzzier sound. Is my impression correct? What other options should I consider?

You might try a deeper v-shaped mouthpiece first. Your Monette is fairly shallow. Lots of options include a Curry TCC or Oakes TCC series.

Horns known for fat and fuzzy include the Martin Committee, that Lawler, Getzen Genesis, but it's still you making the sound. Any flugel or cornet works in that direction too.

Thanks. I also have a 1968 Olds Ambassador cornet that, had it fewer nearly mortal injuries, might do the job.
