When and how often has there been changes in Stradivarius stop rod nut design over the years...photos would be nise!

Other question is in regards to the valve stem thread size, spring barrel end. New York Strads will fit in loosely in to the modern strads( test mule is a '74) the '74 stem will not fit at all on the NY (B valve) barrel. Does anyone have size and pitch of both.

I also want to know about the stop nut designs over the years, so I'm lifting this thread somewhat!

    Great photos Brassband!
Those on the 7-59 are the models of stop nuts I'm looking for to finish off my old girl. Just gotta find some now.

No one has info on the valve stems.
Also interrested in info on the differences between the varius types of piston designs Bach toyed with on the early Strads.

Have you tried asking Roy Hempley and the various experts also noted on his website Vincent Bach's World ?

Yes,I have been in touch with many Bach experts over the past few months.
But have not had any specifics on either points.

Probably because I didn't ask about those perticular points of interrest at the time.
However, I did get a truck load of information ablout MY horn from Mr. Hempley, whom I thank very much.
