I finalized my arrangements for the International Trumpet Guild Conference at Banff, Canada.

My total cost of Airline flight, hotel, rental car, conference, meal plan and some taxes will be $1641.00. There is a Park Pass missing from this cost and does not include spending money on CD's, music, (gasoline) and other goodies the vendors will bring.

Start saving now. Especially if you are a come back player and need inspiration.

If any of you want a break down of my arrangements I'll be glad to post them. I am not staying at the Banff Center but at the Tunnel Mountain Resort about 1.9 KM or 4 minutes from the Banff Center.

Curious to know the cost of your hotel. Do you mind posting it?

    Del, and others,

I used Yahoo travel to book my flight, hotel and car rental in one package.
The flight and hotel was $925.00 or close to that.
My hotel is the Tunnel Mountain Resort. It came up first on the list so I took it. Everything else cost more.
The car is Hertz booked out of Calgary airport, intermediate.
My total for Flight+hotel+car was $1005.05
    Taxes and Fees (Canada) 181.18
    Travel Protection $54.95 (personal preference)
    Total is $1241.18

Based on yahoo maps the conference center and Tunnel mountain resort are on the same road and about 1.9 Km from each other.

Actually, the meal plan at the two dedicated hotels is a pretty good deal, and a great way to make sure you don't "miss" any upcoming events. Unfortunately, I had to chose between a scuba trip and the ITG this year. Sad.

I bought the meal plan but no one has inquired since it is a no brain decision.

The meal plan is, however, excessive compared to past conferences.
The cost for the banquet is also excessive, $50.00.

The meal plan and quality at Rowan University was the best of any conference. The Banff chefs will have their poofy hats full trying to beat Rowan.
