I was just curious to see if anyone knew who the trumpet players were on the 20th Century Fox Fanfare that we hear so much. I found some information about the tune, but if anyone knew who was actually playing on the recording that would be cool. I am researching musicians who we hear all the time, but do not know who they are.

You mean it's not a live performance every time I hear it from a THX certified 42 channel surround sound???

I kid. Sorry, I have nothing useful to contribute.

I did write an arrangement for 5 trumpets of it if you'd like.

Hmmm...that's what I thought, too - a group standing behind the screen.

    That's cool - How can I obtain a copy?

Uh. It's not a work I'm proud of because I did it in an hour or so without much ear training. So the chord voices are wrong and it's not exact. Also, it's ranged for high school trumpets. If I had professional lead players' ranges to work with, then it would be better.

However, if you just want it for the fun, or if it's just a for-fun group sort of thing, it would work just fine.

Let me know what your email is and I can email it to you.
