A standard ring should fit it as long as you have the screw. If you're sure that's the year. Early 18A's had no ring and 17A's started in '61 had one. I have a 12A w/o a ring. Rings didn't appear on Conn cornets until the late '50's.

I tried the ring from my Holton Collegiate C -602 did not fit. You don't have a ring on yours how do you use your 3rd slide valve to tune?

It's gonna be trial and error unless you can find an original. There are several sellers on e-Bay that sell old Conn parts. If I can find them, I'll post the links. Most Conn cornets pre-1955ish don't have a 3rd slide ring. The tubing is longer so bad notes can be lipped up or down more easily. I have 3 Conn cornets. A 12A and two 80A's and they don't have rings.

Thank you Toby for e-bay seller ...by the way I wanted to know cleaning the Conn Coprion Cornet is it a little different because of the copper finish? because I use dish washing liquid and also I never had a horn with springs on the bottom is it a problem taking it a part to clean ? What should I be aware of ? Thank you Anthony
