5 best books for trumpet

    The best book is the one that you really use every day! The method is actually secondary as they all have the basics required to play. All of the mainstream books have been mentioned. Just make sure that you have a daily dose of breathing exercizes, long tones, lip slurs, technical studies and at least 1/3rd of your entire practice time on tunes. MUSIC is the reason that we practice, not etudes!

    A-men to that Robin. The books are tools to help us meet our musical goals. In fact one of the best things my trumpet teachers did was to have us play even etudes scale studies, clarke etc musically and concentrating on sound rather then speed.
