The copper lower valve casing is standard for the 1920s. However, the finishes should have been only raw brass, silver, or gold plate-- yet, this looks like lacquer. Well, it could be raw brass, but I don't think you could get raw brass with artistic engraving.

Yes it has the asterisk or star high up on the 2nd valve. The first valve looks like it has a cut or deep scratch near the bottom. For a 1920s horn it looks to be complete and in good condition. The rest of the engraving is really nice too.

Sorry but this engraving is very unsettling for me, her mouth is just inappropriate, I just cant look at it this engraving the mouth issue prevents me gazing at her nipples and tits which would otherwise give great pleasure into my old age.

Can nothing be done to rectify this obscenity that is her out of proportion mouth.

Not sure I'd put it so strongly, but it seems like Conn's engraver(s) at the time did a lot better with animals and flowers.

The flapper girls are nice! Some of the ladies on Trombones and Saxes were done well too.

You know what they say: "If you can't woo them, carve them into all of your personal belongings."
