someone needs to explain how this all works, i am now confuzzled (confused).
Oops! 100 trumpets should double the db's of 10 trumpets, 1000 would quadruple it, if I remember correctly. Don't know of any formula for perceived loudness.
i said 3 times, not cubed. im not multiplying 10 by itself twice, im mulitplying 10 by 3.
10 x 3 = 30
10 x 10 x 10 = 1000
Unless dbs are figured out by squaring???
VB is right Mud, 4db is ten times the intensity of 2 db and so on.
okay, yeah...... i dont know any of this stuff
dB's - decibals are a measurement of sound -- - and it is a logarithmic scale --(meaning it is NON- linear) such that the sound difference in decibels is on a Base 10 scale --- here you can read about it, which will make it easier than my 30 year old physics explanation (Decibel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).
I am sorry about the trumpet section --- but it takes TIME (even for a woodwind player) to get the embouchure strong enough to get range and sound -- those, (I believe) are the facts ---- I believe it will be a lot quicker for you to learn how to march,, rather than make a woodwind player a good trumpet player --- alll in a few months --- just my opinion --- ALTHOUGH, they shouldn't just quite, neither should you -- we never get anyplace if we never START someplace!!!!!!!!!!
