    You can do this,
    Trust yourself,
You know enough not to rush it.
    The audience isn't there,
    They're listening to the piano.
Play for yourself just this time.
    You've done the rehearsal,
    Now relax,
    Breathe,
    Plant the feet,
Bend ze knees - now 4 - 1 - 2 - 3 you're on and only God is listening, make it sound good.

I know this is old advice but make sure you think of the songs not the notes. "Sing through your horn" as they say and try to stay relaxed with it. Best of British to you

    Cheers

on our "after concert" meal yesterday -- the conductor came by each table and "talked" a bit. He said the concert went pretty well, but he did "hear" a couple of odd notes. When he looked at me!!! -- I simply stated --- "hey, it wasn't me --- I actually pay attention during concerts and count the rests"

I just played a gig at Little E's in Pittsburgh this past weekend. Our last song was rather energetic, and after I completed my solo playing BOTH my trumpet and flugel AT THE SAME TIME, I looked down and found the stage floor around my feet covered, literally covered in dollar bills. That's the kind of feedback I like to receive... Food for thought.

too bad you only played well enough to get dollars -- if you were really on that night you might have had $5's --- then you could have had a decent breakfast instead of going to McDonald's ! ROFL ROFL ROFL
