advice for beginners

    Anthony, I have the same problem. When I played in high school (1949) all I had to do was "toot". I began AND ended the note with the toungue. Now my teacher is trying very hard to get me to end the note by stopping the air flow but not with the toungue!
    She wants the note to sound like "tooh" and I just haven't got it yet. It sounds great when she does it.

    Thanks I'll give the quarter notes and scales a try ,my teacher suggested a page in Arbans but some of the notes start to get too high ,(fine he said leave out that part) but you way sounds much better ,Thanks you for your kind help ,Anthony
