Ever play C trumpet? I used them all the time.

Micro tonal? Tonal is difficult enough for me. I have not one nanogram ambition to play classical music on the trumpet so I don't think I will ever need a C trumpet.

I sometimes use the alternate fingering of 2 for Bb when I miss a key signature. Sounds funny but sometimes you just gotta lip it back up.

My old brain is slow. By the time I miss a key signature ( usually a B ) the conductor has already eyed me because I am too slow to lip the error.

Here is something from 1969 as televised on the Mike Douglas show out of Philadelphia.
Marvelous playing and watch for alternate fingerings from both Gil Johnson and Seymour Rosenfeld. Not on every note that it can be used on, only on the note when needed to fit better in the chord. Observe Rosenfeld on his usual Bb which he used in the orchestra and how beautifully he blends with the great Gil Johnson's C trumpet.
