Has there been research done on exactly where all of the material from the Art of Phrasing originally came from? All of the arias are just listed as the name of the opera, and themes from symphonies are just called theme from a symphony... I'd like to know what I spend so much time playing, and where I can find recordings of vocal performances, and the full symphonic works that correspond to the short melodies.
    masters project anyone??

    examples:
Theme from "A" Major Symphony by Mendelsshon is actually the second movement from the Italian Symphony.

one of the Norma's by Bellini is actually the aria Casta Diva.

    more?
