"Are you supporting your air"? - I don't get it

    At the end of the day, no matter how you play, nobody dies, so chill out.

    (Of course, this falls into the "Do as I say, not as I do" category.)

    Methinks we need to find a better word description than "natural" for the process of breathing in a manner that produces the optimum sound from our instruments, while certainly however our body's function is natural even if diseased or infirm. Due to life saving abdominal surgery I no longer can control my abs / "suck in my gut" , the latter as the drill sergeant once commanded, and COPD certainly has taken away a major segment of my endurance to do many tasks I once was able to do with ease, and still I can play these brass instruments well enough to enjoy. Is there a succinct and cogent answer to how I'm doing this? If I knew, I'd tell others!
