    Hello trumpet people!

Many of you will have heard that Canada's foremost lead trumpet player, Arnie Chycoski (Boss Brass) lost his long battle with cancer in September 2008. As a tribute to her father one of Arnie's daughters is circulating a petition requesting that Arnie be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame for his contribution to musical excellence and to quote Kali Chycoski, "his selflessness in giving his knowledge to aspiring new musicians".

I can recall meeting Mr. Chycoski as one those aspiring trumpet players following a Boss Brass concert in Calgary in the mid 1980's. He was jovial, kind and patient with my now in hindsight, ridiculous questions on "how do you play those high notes?"

For those of you 'too young' to know his talents, I invite you to check out some of the older Boss Brass recordings and learn more about this wonderful musician.

Given his accomplishments and influence in the Canadian music scene, I have signed this petition and think that it would be a fitting tribute to the man and his music to have him indiucted in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Please find the email below which can be cut and pasted into a new email window should you feel the same.

    For Arnie,

Hi - I am Kali Chycoski, one of Arnie Chycoski's daughters. I am inviting you to sign this petition in memory of my Father. I would like to get Dad nominated as a candidate for the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Not only was my Father recognized as an outstanding trumpet player, he was known for his true love of music and his selflessness in giving his knowledge to
aspiring new musicians! If you believe that Arnie Chycoski should be inducted into the Hall of Fame, please add your name, city and province/state to the list.

I am starting below. I am not sure how petitions work on email, but when the petition reaches you and you are the 50th, 100th, etc. name, please send a copy of the petition to me at [email protected] and I will compile a master list to present to the Special Awards Committee at CARAS. Let us forward this petition far and
wide, as music is a genre that my Father believed in with all of his heart and the world is better for his love of it! Thank you from my heart!
