    I guess your original question was about the tone. Honestly, I was about 6 months into my comeback and I wasn't on the dark/bright scale. I was on the crappy/less crappy scale at that time.

    ACB MV3C was one of the best purchases I've made. This may sound weird, but I absolutely love using it for jazz, Eb, and picc playing. It's really versatile.

    Trent's mouthpieces are great. I play his MV3C on my NY Strad and it feels like they were meant for one another! His TA1 is amazing too, though some feel it is a bit small (which it is), but man, it produces a tone I cannot get from any other mouthpiece. I'm not that great, but I can actually bend notes and do things on the TA1 I cannot do on any other mouthpieces. I used to play Curry mouthpieces, and they're good (especially his custom pieces that he makes for Steve Dillard at Horntrader), but Trent's mouthpieces make me happy. And that, to me, is what matters most!
