has anybody heard any rumors about UMI closing the Bach and Selmer Paris factories? I went to the web site and they are still listing Holton and Leblanc as still alive!:x

I haven't heard anything about this,
and wandering around the bach and conn-selmer sites, I didn't see anything mentioning something like that

Conn-Selmer has no power over the independent Selmer Paris brand, other than an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement.

The Holton ST307 MF Horn and ST550 Admiral trumpets still appear in dealer catalogs, but as "built to order" items. I'd guess that Holton trumpets will cease to exist when orders drop too low. The Holton brand will probably survive for the foreseeable future on french horns.

Being French and living in France, I can confirm Henri Selmer France is still alive. Contacts continue with bureau and showroom in Paris, one can visit the factory in Mantes-la-ville near Paris. Now so it is, but in the future one never knows !
