    Hi
I have a bach strad cornet recently purchased it has been replated but there is a small speck of silver plating missing about 2 mm in diameter perhaps a little chip. anyway is there any easy touch up that i can do instead of going to a pro?

I have never done it, but this is the same type of process they use for gold washing bells.

You shoudl check with a refinisher, they already have the equipment and the costs may be more reasonable for such a small job.

Most repairers have such touch up equipment.

A local jeweler perhaps?? They generally perform small touch-up jobs on silver.

Thats a good suggestion. When I was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska there was a local jeweler who did that sort of work.

Now where I am living the local jewelers send everything out.....go figure!!

Not too surprising. Anymore, everything seems to be outsourced to so-called "specialists," especially when specific skills were never acquired by the one who should've been proficient in all areas of his own trade.
