I am the original owner of a Bach Strad made apparently in 1960 (Mt. Vernon, NY), serial #19571. How can I determine bell size with only that information?

Shop card, but it was probably lost. Call Bach up and they have a copy of the shop card and they can tell you all you need to know. I really like the Mt. Vernons, great horn.

    Welcome the TM!

I will give them a call. Thanks for the suggestion. As a new comback player, it is fascinating to see what is available online nowadays.

Cody - "shop cards" were not sent with horns, to be subsequently lost.

They were used in the shop when the horn was built, as a record of the specs of that specific horn, and then filed away. Conn-Selmer has scanned them, and will email a copy upon request.

Sorry forrest, the customer got a copy way back when. They made 2 cards, how do you think people sell them with the shop card? They dont hack into the database and print a copy.

I imagine that occasionally shop cards that shipped with the horn were removed, lost etc. by the store selling the horns -especially if the case came out a number of times for trial playing.

Can one of you hack into Martin's database and get me a shop card for my '49 Committee ?

I have a 59 Mt Vernon with both the shop card and original guarantee signed by the man himself. Actually, I have framed the guarentee.
