Hi. I've been combing the forums for a while and have heard several accounts that said the Bach TR300 blows more open than the Bach Strad. This lead me to wonder about the TR300 specs. What are they? Upon inspection I found that my TR300 appears to be dual bore, as that bottom part of the tuning slide does not fit in the top part. Does this affect the feeling of openness for the horn? Also, what are the other specs? Leadpipe and bell taper? How is it many people come off the TR300 and find the Strad is too stuffy? I wonder this because I personally felt my single bore Strad 37 blow just fine, a lot freer in fact, compared to the TR300. It was on a friend's Strad that I was able to perfectly single tongue the intro the The Aviators march for the first time last year and ever since, the TR300 has felt restrictive and stuffy. Anyone know anything? Maybe I just happened to get a Strad that wasn't as tight.
