    Hi Mr. L-

Just a quick question: what were you guys playing on for the Beethoven recording with Vanska? Schagerl rotary? It sounds really great! Just the right balance in my book.

    Thanks from a fan!

Thanks, PT, for the kind words.

We used the Shagerls with Monette mouthpieces. Well, Bob's used to be a Monette mouthpiece until he had it carved up but the rim, cup, and backbore are untouched. I played on the C12 but these days I play the C15M.

I also used an accompanying sound post that I moved around until, between that and the mouthpiece, I was able to make the E higher and the G lower. In June I'll record 3 and 8. Next winter we record 9.

So, look for 3 and 8 to come out around Jan. or Feb.

    Thanks again for writing,

    ML
