    Hey there everyone,

Like I said in my introduction thread, I'm a woodwind player who decided to get an Olds Ambassador cornet off ebay on a whim. Now, I received the instrument, (although I had to give it in to a repair shop immediately after, to get it checked out.) In the brief period that I had it, though, I managed to get a sound out and play a very badly out of tune C scale which my mother tells me, sounded rather like a very eccentric car horn. Now, my question is this: what is the embouchure supposed to be like? I can get a sound out putting the mouthpiece in a variety of places and changing my lips in a multitude of ways, and all of them sound equally painful. Is there any "wrong" way? Should I just find one that works for the largest number of notes and stick to it? This is terribly confusing for a poor woodwind player lost in uncharted brass territory!

    Thanks in advance!
