    Pete,

That's an upright action rotary valve flugel with a curved bell. For better viewing look the below pic:

It is a good rotary flugelhorn despite its rather strange look.

    Thanks Nick,
I do love the sound, but the looks seem strange; BUT i think I could learn to live with it. It's probably the closest to the sound I want ..the CT Olds had it as well. Great horn. I checked their website but couldn't find it...umm, maybe I didn't check the rotary horns. They had a couple of categories. I wonder the cost of that thing?

    Hi CBK,
My Quest is "Officially" over with the Olds now in the family.

This will have to be a quiet adoption/or surprise pregnancy done as perfect timing with an Anniversary, or when a suitable gift to the wife is warranted, so it can slip in ALMOST un-noticed. It will take me a long while to save for it. What a sound though. I have given up on an Olds CT Flugel, one in really nice condition came up last year but was snapped up. This "KILLER QUEEN" will probably go un-noticed.... in my dreams.

So I will have to save for my better half, maybe a trip to Europe...or a nice holiday, and we find the newbie on the steps when we return. Yeah, might work.

And BTW, would I buy this with the expectation of a Double C, a nice place to slot my Monette MF3, Wedge, Asymmetric or Kelly Screamer.... I think most of you will have worked that one out!

So just maybe, I am out of retirement and looking for another horn. This thread was worth it, to find this gem.
