I use an amalgamation of everything, and they all contribute to my high range.
I do Stamp warmups, Buzzing Book, Schlossberg, Smith Flexibilities and am experimenting with bit of Cat Anderson. SCALES are not only important, but good for you as well.
This is just a slice of stuff that I use in my routine that seem to help with range. Focus on riding the airstream and making a fine little aperture with, if any, LESS pressure on the face.
The problem with using muscle to gain access to high range is that you'll either get tired, or choke off your airstream.
Start quiet and gradually build dynamics!
