Best Way to learn scales

    Repetition is the key here, as has been said above.

    When discussing scales, I encourage learning all of the scale exercises in the Arban's book because they don't just teach you the scales, they teach you how to play in the key of __. Think of it as getting comfortable with keys rather than learning the patterns of how to make a scale with WWHWWWH.

    I would also suggest practicing your scales with varying rhythmic patterns and articulations.

    Oh I know what you mean now .... start on any tone and do a scale. I dunno, lots of practice?
