Hey everybody. There's a smudge on my bell and I don't know how to get rid of it. I'm thinking it might be the case idk.
Any ideas? Horn is a Yamaha 2330
(UPDATE)I changed back to my stock Yamaha case and the smudge has gotten better so..... I guess
    its partially the case...

Is it on silver, or a clear lacquer bell?

Brochacho, get a silver polishing cloth. How long between when you last played it and noticed the smudge.
    How big is the smudge?

I have one and been using it on the horn and, the smudge is about the size of a quarter . I've been focusing on that one spot religiously for 20 mins and managed to shrink it a bit

Those things are nearly impossible to remove. Use some silver polish. Rubber bands often cause this kind of thing to happen to trumpets. NEVER USE A RUBBER BAND ON YOUR TRUMPET! Sorry, just had to say that.

Second what Lateumpeta said. Use some silver polish and clean the case of rubber bands. Should clean up without a problem.

Yep when I was little I started out with a King Pocket Cornet and I put rubber bands around it.
And removed after a few weeks and yeah I got the black smudge too.

Rubber bands and those red rubber pencil erasers are the anathema of any silver plated instrument. None at all should be on your even near your instrument and that is inclusive of being in your case.
