black spots

    anyone know how to get rid of black spots on silver trumpets?

    a drill the size of the spot?.

    Trumpetguy,
    you haven't given us a lot to go on. Silver polish or soaking the horn in a sink with hot salt water and a big piece of aluminum foil are what I use to make silver things shiny again.

    I thought this post was going to be about the black spots one sees in front of their eyes after they hit and must hold a double C.

    Headache time.

    i mean like around my valve casings theres black sploches were its like eroded

    According to a German Bosch engineer that I trust, usually the black spots are the result of poor plating. Try the salt and aluminium foil trick in boiling water--it works!

    I ran out of Acme years ago and I think the company was bought out by some silverplating operation looking for more business...........

    You may want to keep an eye on your post count though, the internet can be manipulated very easily!
