So I sold a motorcycle and decided to visit a local music store and get a book or two. They had quite a selection, and to me it's like tools, hard to have too many so I got:

Standard of Excellence by Bruce Pearson Book 1
    Same, book 2
    Same, book 3
H.L. Clarke, Technical Studies for the Cornet
    Claude Gordon, Thirty Velocity Studies
Saint-Jacome, Grand Method for the Trumpet or Cornet (big fat thing)

Guess I didn't get an Arban, but when I see one I'll get it too. Frankly the Standard Of Excellence series will probably be the backbone of my learning with some of the Clarke and Gordon thrown in.

These cost me almost $80, hopefully it will be money well spent. Back when I did a sport, I had all the books available on it, too. Thank goodness there were not a lot of books about it!

Arban's cost a chunk of change ... but are worth every penny IMO ... I'm on my second copy, this one a platinum edition. Most small music shops as cater to public schools usually only have a few copies ... if that. Still, I think they should be willing to order a copy for you. Still, what you purchased should keep you going for about a year or two.

Thank you very much, Flugelgirl. But in a first try, I forgot a letter and asked IMSL.org ... Imagine ! There is not the same music ! :dontknow:ROFL

    You got ABBA instead?

Yeah an Arban's is on the list. About the only thing still on my book buying list really.

And everything is getting harder to find so when I see one I'll grab it.

It's cheaper to collect books than collect horns.
