So I sold a motorcycle and decided to visit a local music store and get a book or two. They had quite a selection, and to me it's like tools, hard to have too many so I got: Standard of Excellence by Bruce Pearson Book 1 Same, book 2 Same, book 3 H.L. Clarke, Technical Studies for the Cornet Claude Gordon, Thirty Velocity Studies Saint-Jacome, Grand Method for the Trumpet or Cornet (big fat thing) Guess I didn't get an Arban, but when I see one I'll get it too. Frankly the Standard Of Excellence series will probably be the backbone of my learning with some of the Clarke and Gordon thrown in. These cost me almost $80, hopefully it will be money well spent. Back when I did a sport, I had all the books available on it, too. Thank goodness there were not a lot of books about it!
