I have just finished reading a rather slow autobiography on Peter Cook (quite a famous british satirist), and i am looking forward to reading something different. Has anyone got any suggestions for a good Jazz musician autobiography .e.g Louis Armstrong.

    Thanks

    Among others,

    Miles autobiography
Music is my mistress - Ellington
    Beneath the underdog - Mingus

    I enjoyed all of these,

I also love Wyntons writing, Sweet swing blues on the road and Letters to a young Jazz Musician though I suppose not strictly autobiographies
