I bought a leblanc paris flugelhorn with the serial numbers of 8xxx. Does anyone know about what date this is and what type of bore it probably has? It's in great condition suprisingly for how old I'm assuming it is.
I can post a picture if needed

I know of no resource for LeBlanc instruments. Before they were bought by Conn/Selmer, you could send them a letter, pray a little and if you were a good person, maybe there would be something provided in the next 6 months to a year. Now you are referred to Conn-Selmer and they didn't have anything available last time that I asked (2 years ago).

Regardless, older instruments are what they individually are and there cannot be any reliable guess to the playing qualities unless one believes in magic. One major bell repair, replacement of the leadpipe or other "adjustment" and the horn has nothing to do with its original state.

You can measure the official bore by measuring the hole in the valve and comparing it to the second valve tube inner diameter.

    The best resources:
    Horn-u-copia
Serial Numbers - Customer Service - Conn-Selmer, Inc.
