I have a teacher who developed a series of long tones to be done specifically with a "hoo" attack. It really helps establish the tongue level that you need to get the lips vibrating without articulating with the tongue. That is the most efficient postion. I have found that it set me on the right path for sure. I am not saying the "pooh" attach is wrong. It is excellent an tool, too. It all depends on what aspect of your playing you are trying to improve.

Two years and still can not get these damn attachments; most frustrating.... "pooh"

You can send your picture to PhotoBucket (for example). Then edit the picture, and among the "URL Link Codes", select "IMG". Copy this code and paste it directly in your post on TM. Very simple :

And if you couple those Long Tones with to only breathe in through the nose, without taking the horn off the lips, you'll strengthen the embouchure too.

    Rapier,

That is exactly how they are presecribed. I crack open the sides, though.

I agree... and circular breathing takes this to the next level.

Tasty garlic-y supper on campus. Got home after last late meeting. Came in the door to kiss my Mrs. She backed away six feet and said "maybe this will be OK..." Was this a breath attack?:dontknow::-P
