Interesting thread, for sure it's mine...
But it's interesting how technique can be different with time and experience, in a French web site I saw an article about breath, pressure and high register, some methods tell us, with the help of written exercises, that we've got to play louder when we've got to play higher, we can see it when there is an ascendent phrase with a crescendo on the other side nowadays many specialists say we don't need a lot of air to play high notes and they add we need less air en pressure and a long inhalation definitly disturbs a good playing.
They are talking also about the piccolo trumpet and they tell us that the way it has to be played is fairly far away from the regular trumpet playing, because the piccolo can be played very loud with a very ugly sound, they say a piccolo must be played with more legato than staccato with really controled pressure and air but without any violence.

This has been like watching a train wreck. Sad part is I know "players" like JH and they really think they can play! I think he's tone deaf! :-) Went to a concert put on by a community band. UHGGGG! The flugel solo was played by a player simply because they had one! People clapped and told them it was wonderful. I thought, "Lying is a sin"! :-) Thanks for posting all the videos! It's Snowing AGAIN!!!! Great for a lot of laughs.

I know this one, I know that one, I met him, I met them... What am I doing ? Nothing...
Don't laugh at him, he is a nice guy, don't forget that music is easy and difficult at the same time. He's just explaining a basic thing and it's interesting.

Alright, I don't know if your joking or not now! Since there could be a cultural thing I'm not getting. I won't mince words. Mr. Healy in the videos I've watched is terrible. He may be a nice guy but his playing is BAAAAAAD.
