i have a buescher aristocrat true tone trumpet that i played for roughly ten years. for many reasons, i stopped playing. so now i have this beautiful vintage trumpet sitting around. i believe this trumpet is well over 60 years old. the serial number is 320748. it was made in elkhart, IN before the factory burnt down and selmer bought buescher. it is gold plated with mother of pearl valve tops and engravings all over. who should i contact if i wanted to sell? and can anyone let me know more about this piece of history i have? thanks!

Welcome to the form. Sounds like you have a good one there. That serial would put it to 1949 per the Kirmser list found in this Buescher section.

There might be a trumpet or two in the trumpet picture thread that might look like yours. Maybe our resident Buescher expert, vetpsychwars will contribute.
Can you post some nice pics of your beauty?

What's the model number? Can you post pictures? I would guess that it is a Model 205 or a Model 207. Gold plate, while possible, would be quite rare. Make sure it's not just gold lacquer.

This horn, while probably a fabulous player, wouldn't command much in the way of cash. The best thing to do would be to put it on ebay with a lot of GOOD pictures. By good, I mean not taken with your camera phone in bad lighting!

That's hard to say. I don't find any 205's currently or have sold on ebay. Probably what I would do is start the bidding at $49.95 or so and see what you get.:dontknow:

Ebay pricing is going to be variable. Depending on condition, a Model 205 could go anywhere from $100 to $300. Having the original case in good condition might make a difference.

There's a Model 215 on ebay right now of the same vintage. Take a look at that auction for an example.
