    There have ALWAYS been monster players of both genders on all instruments!! Why is this still an issue????

    I admire anyone who chooses a path that is not main stream that is expected of them

    Well, hasn't this always been a characteristic of those with true mastery of their instrument and isn't this what has always separated the . . . uh . . . ooops.

    I was doing sectional tuition for two county youth wind bands recently and one had 3 girls in a section of 8, the other had 3 girls in section of 4. Also in the second band there was a female euph, trombone and tuba player (separate people, not one with 3 instruments). I think sexism has no option but do die out in musical circles.

    There is nothing more beautiful than witnessing a person doing something that they really love at a high level. It doesn't matter if it is a man or a woman.
