If he wants that trumpet just for the looks, he might as well buy a Bach Stradivarius silver plated, and order a Golden Trim Kit with it. the only difference in looks is the engraving on the bell, and the goldplated mouthpiece (that can also be ordered)
the trim kit costs around 120 dollars, and you can find bach strads second hand for 1000 dollars. it's definately a bit cheaper than ordering a new custom made trumpet.

Bach Strads are manufactured in Elkhart Indiana by experienced craftsman. Bach has reformated and the 2009 models being produced now replicate the early models.

Bach will do a customized instrument to your specifications. There is also an engraving company in Elkhart that will do additional customized engraving on any instrument.

If you are willing to make the investment you can get just about anything you want. However, frilly engraving does not make the horn play any better. Put your money in physical upgrades to the instrument.

Are you sure you want to buy a trumpet on the basis of what it looks like? Some of the best horn players use battered things with lost lacquer and regard it as a source of pride. Go for the sound.
