    TG13,

You're not obligated to answer any posts, even on threads that you start. It's a very open forumn ... Answer those that you feel like and ignore the rest.

I think both of you have missed a few of my posts. This abuse happened while I was in college, 17-19 years old, I am 35 now and extremely confident...

I was just curious to see if other women experienced things like this.. A TON has changed in my life since that crap happened.... If I walked into that school today, and was treated the same my reaction would have been a LOT different.

That's why I don't consider it whining, it happened a long time ago, when I didn't know any other female trumpet players, when I joined the forum I thought it would be interesting ot ask other women what they had experienced in the past.... I wasn't expecting this to become a personal bashing, but really I don't care because I'm confident and know who I am as a trumpet player......

After all the negative stuff I've seen on this post... What a breath of fresh air! A nugget worth wading through all the other stuff that we had to traverse to get to.

    Hi Everyone
I have created a new website dedicated to female trumpet players (with a few cornet players also). This has been a passion of mine for many years and I slowly started this project in 2004. After a few years out to deal with the Meaning of Life (42) I finally finished my site 2 weeks ago. This however is only the beginning. I need your help!

Please send me any names of Female Trumpet Players with any links or book references. I am particularly interested in Female trumpeters in marching bands or Army, Navy, and Airforce Bands as this information is a lot harder to find without word-of-mouth.

    Looking forward to your suggestions.
    Kind regards
    Lianne

Side Note about Cindy. She is one of the few female drummers out there that can get a good endorsement. She endorses and uses Spirit Drums out of Australia. And these drums are in high demand, you usually have to order them 1-2 years in advance.

Personally I still believe in chivalry, Ladies first, always, open doors for you, close doors for you, escort you…it’s how I was raised. I play in bands with women trumpet players and love it, and one of my students is a 40 year old woman with 2 children. I think it’s great that a woman would choose one of the hardest instruments out there to play, and think it’s pretty cool that not only do I have brother trumpet players out there I have sister trumpet players out there also. Now, as a fellow trumpet player…women trumpet players are totally HOT !!! : ) Women players, keep it up, and know that your brothers stand behind you !! :-)
