Anyone have any input on these Cecilio trumpets? They must be cheaply made, but how are they just as a horn to mess around on? They look flashy.

I personally haven't ordered one, so I can't assess how bad they are, but I wouldn't even consider them if I were you.

What would you use this trumpet for?

For a student horn, don't buy anything other than major brands, used or new, would be my advice.

Yamaha, Bach, Jupiter, Holton, Olds, Getzen, Blessing...

I'd only use it to mess around on. I play a Bach Stat 37 as my primary horn.

Considering the Cecilio as a "throw down" horn.......just for fun.

Do you know of mechanical problems, like the valves sticking, or things of that nature? I thought that Monel valves were OK (heard Maynard used them when he was playing Holton horns).

From the price it seems clear they are not a top of the line horn.

    Your opinion.

Bro welcome to trumpetmaster. Monel valves are great if they are inside a pro level horn, a cecilio horn is chinese made. No good at all. Mass produced and cheap materials offer up a disaster with a troopers name all over it.

You must practice abstinance when the thought of this horn enters your mind.

Thanks Piper. I believe Grasshopper has snatched this pebble from your hand.

you don't want to mess with those horns trooper. the valves will work for a couple of months and then self-destruct.

I bought a cecilio pocket trumpet. It sounds very good, but, the valves aren't that great.
