    if you watch it closely it appears he just places it on the third slide. Very inspirational. He also is humble by this account! Thanks for posting. I think he is fabulous and hope to see him sometime.

    I find it hard to understand how moving your little finger to the third slide makes his register better. I will have to give it a go.

    His shows are fantastic!

    Chris is a good ambassador for trumpet players. Those that claim that his tone is created with electronics need to watch this clip. Left pinky moved from the lower valve casing to somewhere at 3rd slide or above.

    He's right about Wynton being the "Jordan" and "Tiger" of trumpet, but I'd rather listen to him anytime.

    Mr. Botti certainly has great tone...but I can never seem to groove on him. Somebody recently shared a song he played with Gladys Knight and I thought it was pretty damn clean and tight. What I really want to see in a contemporary trumpeter is a sense of humor like Dizzy Gillespie.
