Very tastefully played, however why do players always seem to put their own spin on it, extra grace notes and taking the last note up.

The USA as Australia will have an official setting of the national anthem and as such should be played as written, I have heard some terrible renditions of both.

    IMHO.

    Regards, Stuart.

The "singers" are usually worse in this reguard. Seem to have to make it their own instead of sticking fairly close to the original melody. A lot of them set my teeth on edge with their renditions:roll::-(

Because they are musical artists and have the ability to put their own emotion and passion into a song that they are playing from the heart. We are a country of diversified individuals, I believe OUR National Anthem is thereby enhanced by the passion of the performer, as it is coming from the freedom within the heart of that particular American. And freedom is what this song is all about. That is why we tear up when we hear it played, and tear up even more, when we know it is coming from the heart.
