I have never ever seen a brand of instruments commercialized on tv. Is this just me? If not, why don't they do tv commercials on brands? there are enough musicians (IMO) for them to make the ads. It's a lot better than watching mops, brooms, etc.:-)

Professional musicians and composers constitute roughly .06 percent of the US population. That makes them a very small target market - 6 in 10,000 people.

Now if you add in the non-pros, students, parents of students, and other instrument buyers there would still be such a small market that advertising dollars would not be well spent in a mass medium like TV.

EVERYONE needs a mop or a broom, almost.
    (Boy, I sure do!)

Yea, but, they don't have to commercialize on the "major" channels, I'm sure the cost of placing an ad on a nonpopular channel is cheaper than putting one on NBC, or they can always put it on a music channel...
