For all our vintage Trumpet Fans. There is a Conn New York Symphony Special Trumpet for sale on E-Bay. The bids are up high even at this point of the auction. Bidding may get crazy near the ending time of the auction. This is one of the more desirable Pro Conn trumpets. One of the Conn models that does not come up often on E-Bay.

Yes, I have never seen one before, so I bought it.

Paid $100 more than I wanted, but needed to know if it is as good as advertised...what else are tax refunds for? My 12b is great and my 2b could be astonishing when/if I get the valves redone. Don't ell my wife though.:-?

Let us know how you like it, compared to your other Conn Trumpets. That one looked to be in pretty good condition, that is about the average, they sell for and even higher. Good luck

What did the trumpet sell for since I have not browesd ebay in a while. I'll put up some pics of my recently restored 1953 New York Symphony.

    Here is the Before Pic.

These trumpets play great. Fairly good open blow for being small bore. The only reason I had mine restored was due to some bell damage.

    Dang...well...guess I'm sorta glad I didn't see it earlier :)

The NYS Specials rarely do come up - I've seen only a few, and this one looks like a beauty. I had a 1940 NYS and it was a very solid player. The Conn NYS is also a favorite of Jerome Callet.

How does one differentiate a New York Symphony from a New York Symphony Special?

The special has nickel trim and has more extensive engraving (wow).

The NYS Special has nickel trim, more elaborate engraving, and different positioning of the bracing; otherwise it's the same as the NYS.
