hey guys, does anyone know if stripping the horn to raw brass and copper plating the bell possible? My horn is due for an overhaul and I love the look of a copper bell. I really love the way the horn sounds so I'm not prone to buy a new horn with a copper bell..not now anyway :-) ...Thanks

    Hello, Sweetsound. Welcome to TrumpetMaster.

This is an interesting question ... and the answer is yes, it can be done.
I admire the look of copper, contrasting with silver, gold, brass, nickel.
Copper lends itself towards a slight darkening of the tone-quality of the horn, and you may notice a smoother "mellowness". I would think the copper-plating might be somewhat different than the solid copper of something like Conn's "Coprion" bell concept.
If you elect to have this done, please keep us informed as to cost and results, including some "before-&-after" pictures.

    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
