Do we laugh at ourselves or do we get more serious?

    None of us try to screw up what we play. It happens and we learn from it. I agree with Rowuk preparation is the absolute key. Sometimes, however, we can't prepare like we would want to or maybe should. The thing I don't see in these posts is playing something really well and be applauded for it is the real fun.

    Thanks, Captain Downer, but the rest of us are human. If you've been playing for years but you're still crapping the bed and laughing about it, then yeah-- you'll never be a pro. But I thought we were talking about developing players.

    A little off topic but, on my first jury I put down my trumpet and walked forward to give the panel my music. As I backed to my seat they were talking to me so I was looking at them when I stepped on my gig bag.
