Do you have some kind of imagery in your mind when you play?

    Well, there is that old National Lampoon Radio Theater bit about Mr. Rogers interviewing a jazz musician. (The Nat Lamp people mostly became the original Saturday Night Live people; the musician interviewed was portrayed by Stanley Clarke.)Mr. Rogers asks him what he thinks about when he's playing. The jazz musician said something like this: "Yeah, I think mostly about how many notes I'm putting out into the air, man, and how many, like, dollars are coming back and the ratio ain't too cool if you know what I'm saying."
