Hello, I was wondering has anyone used the Doctor Valve for a valve job? Specificly the OPM service (Optimum Port Matching). I'm thinking either Dr. Valve or Osmun for service on my valves any thoughts on the best place? Thanks

You can't go wrong with either one. Steve did a Quesnon flugel for me a number of years ago and the work was impeccable. He was THE valve man at Schilke. Bob Osmun did a stint with Schilke before he started his business, so the Schilke quality ethic is strong with either shop. Jim Becker would probably be doing the work at Osmun and he has a great reputation.

Thank you for the answer. While reading their websites I gathered that they both are very good. Method wise they may be different. The Osmon site describes alignment with very scientific precise measurements while the Doctor Valve site describes it more human like, shimming-play testing for best sound. In the trumpet world I'm not sure who has the better approach.:-?
