I noticed today that the amado water key on my tuning slide is dripping when I play really low pedal notes (concert BB and below). I haven't noticed such a problem in the "normal" range. Is that a problem? BTW, I use pedal tones only in the practice room.

    Some thoughts:

    * A pressure antinode (high pressure spot) where the valve is

    * Stong vibrations in the slide where the valve is located

Try holding the trumpet with one hand and playing a long pedal tone and gently touching the valve with the other hand to see if you can detect vibration or looseness in the valve. It may take several attempts before you can learn to detect the vibration if that is what is causing the problem. But, I don't know enough about Amado water valves to suggest a way to tighten it if that is the problem.
