    Hey Guys,

Got to see them live about 30 years ago.
If I recall there was a hot goose on the drums, which in those days, disturbed me somewhat.

Same class as Blood Sweat & Tears... Shakatak...

    Awesome stuff.

    Cheers

All those old school 70's/80's bands are great. Try listening to the SOS Band, Con Funk Shun, The Ohio Players and even KC and the Sunshine Band. All had great horn lines. Thanks for sharing.

On that particular version what happened to the trumpet at the end? That part goes on a loooong time. That was a simpler arrangement than what I have heard them perform live.
As far as comparing them to Blood Sweat & Tears, EWF is in a different class. The only group that can compete with them is T.O.P. (Tower of Power for any of you youngsters out there.)
Those days are pretty much gone (sigh)

I miss those bands!! Since the '70's, it seems rockers have all but forgotten that horns even exist, let alone that they can write arrangements including them.

My favorite EWF tune is on the album 'That's the Way of the World' and is called 'See the Light'.

The tune starts out in this really groovy 7/4 with nice vocals and trumpet soloing by Oscar Brashear, then
moves to a nice 4/4 with those great Phil Bailey vocals....
