EBay prices - Conn 22B and many others

    I'd make a play for that horn. I approach it like a dealer, not a player. I'd be more than willing to show them the final values and BIN prices on eBay, if that's their game. I'm sorry if they were foolish enough to use those prices as a starting point for BUYING a trumpet as well, but if they really paid someone over $1,000 for a well worn, unplayable Strad 25 (an honest shop is going to try to double their money), I'd be happy to help them get out of that bad deal after it sits there for a few months.

    I offered them $1200, and after a LOT of haggling, they said their final offer was $1500. That's still top dollar for something that needs a good service, and isn't yet playable....

    That is good haggling. Can't help if they're being delusional.

    I was once told that if you don't make their eyes pop with your first offer, you haven't gone low enough. ;-)
