Leigh is sending me a "highly customized" Eclipse - "Showstopper" for the Northern Brass Trumpetfest. See details under Gigs and Events here on the TM site!

I wish that I could share what this Custom Eclipse one-off trumpet is all about, but, Leigh is keeping that a secret. Trust me, I've tried my darnedest to get him to give me even the slightest hint! Maybe a little extra pressure from everyone here will help?

Stand by for a whole bunch of PM's, Leigh!

Haha, doesn't that just kill you Bruce... to know that two other people besides Leigh know more than you about your own horn.

    Hi Guys!

You 2 have'nt shown Bruce the pics of it have you?

    Its a surpirse!

When you do all get a chance to see it some will probably think i have recently gone mad, but that is not true !!!! I have always been mad!!

The custom horns are a lot of fun to make, but very demanding as the braces are usually different and this all affects the performance of the horn (good or bad)

So we can end up having a very full scrap bin in the factory from these horns.

The main thing to us is that if it does not play as good as our normal eclipse range then its a waste of time.

We fool around with different ideas brace-wise and other stuff, until we hit upon something we like and that works great
Of course they are never going to make it into the pit of an orchestra because of they way they look, but for those who like a bit of funky now and then with a fantastic sound, WE SALUTE YOU!

    Hope you like it Bruce!

You wont see many of these around thats for sure

    Regards

    Leigh

Alright you guys! Taunt me all you want.... at the moment, I'm ENJOYING the Eclipse Heavy Medium Red that just now arrived!

Didn't see that on your list Gary, nor yours, Jarrett.

Wish ya could play it... WOW!!!

Kinda speechless for the time being... please forgive me. What an awesome sound! Really full in the low register... silky upper register. Kind of reminiscent of the Large Red, but with more focus, and fullness, in the middle and lower registers.

I think that it would allow you perform very well in an orchestra, or, as a jazz/solo/section player. Very rich sound!

I guess that either way, BOTH of these horns will be with me, soon. It really is better that they didn't arrive simultaneously... no doubt, I'd be really torn!

If you're coming to the Northern Brass Trumpetfest, of course you'll be able to SEE and PLAY them... along with the others!

    Well... gotta go play!

    Bruce -
The MHR is a nice horn.....however if I ever get enough $$$ (or permission from my better half) I'd get a MR in gold, a MHY in laquer, or a LR in laquer....
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE SO MANY COOL HORNS, LEIGH?
